Photo based jerseys

Marcelo (sublitwill) and I have been coming up with a jersey design for my team the "moose" and i wanted your guys opinion on the jersey since it is a little... unorthodox. My team is split 50/50 on them. You either love it or hate it. So im curious what MSH thinks? Go ahead and rip it apart, its a design in progress, and can be changed.

Also while im here Marcelo has been incredibly amazing and i highly recommend him to anyone looking for jerseys!

that looks really good... just might consider whether the background kinda loses its essence once you wear the jersey (folds, creases etc)

I'm not a big fan. I voted meh because I don't really hate them.

Really, striping and color blocking is really usually always better. Too much distracts and makes teh entire thing look like a mess. Simpler, cleaner design just looks better.

The sublimated designs and patterns can be done very well, but that's not it.

Basically, you can do it, but you'll wind up looking more like the first can. Overdesigned and less remarkable for it. Simplify things and you get a much more dramatic effect.

Is this a roller team? If so I think you could rock them as its closer to a roller style but I like to keep nice simple jerseys on the Ice. Your call, I voted meh because I have nothing against them, but I personally wouldn't sport those.

No, its an ice team... haha. I really want to give these a shot but dont want to risk burning any bridges with teammates because of the craziness of the photo based jersey. I'm gonna try and mock one up myself to see if i can incorporate the trees somewhere into the design while making it a little bit more standard. Ill let you guys know what i come up with.

Overall, I think they are a little busy, but I think the main issue is combining a cartoon with a photo. I think it would look nicer with artwork for trees to match your logo (or be incorporated into your logo), or a majestic photo of a moose, but mixing the two is a bit jarring.

Not a fan of the photo jersey at all and I think Jason is right. If you're sublimating the jersey, some artwork that matches the logo would give the same vibe and look much more cohesive.

On a side note, if half of your team is opposed to it, go in another direction. Pushing your choice on the team is a good way to split a locker room.

I voted meh on it because I like the jersey but not the background. You could try the tree lines on the borders. Call me old fashioned but I have never liked jerseys with anything going on in the background. Not even for roller hockey.

The photo realistic sublimation jerseys are kind of a solution without a problem to me. An Everett Silvertips style would look much better IMO.

Not a huge fan of the jerseys, but I am all about traditional looking jerseys. I also think while you are playing people wont even be able to notice what design you have on your jersey.
