Supreme skate fit. Low end vs high end

Recommended Posts

I was wandering around Dick's Sporting goods the other day & stumbled into the hockey section (duh). There were a bunch of low end skates there so I figured what the heck. I tried on a couple different things but really liked the way the Supreme one05 fit. I'm wondering if the higher end (one75 specifically) fit similar or is it a different beast entirely?

Everywhere I've looked shows them at $400 but there's an ebay seller with a 'best offer' option in his listings. A check of his feedback shows them going for $350 with free shipping. My son works at a rink (no skates for sale) but does have a skate oven and he does my sharpening. The LHS is a Peranis (online retailer/Hockey World) so no worries about dissing the little guy.

Any help appreciated.

For the record, I did a search and spent a good 40 minutes reading old posts but didn't really find the answer I was looking for.

You probably cannot compare these two.

Remember that the One05 only comes in an R width while the One75 comes in D or EE. If you think you fit well in a One05, then you might fit well in a One75 EE. But then you have to try on the One75 D just to be really sure.

Like most low-end skates, the One05 is meant to have a generic fit.

Thanks for the advice fellas. After some thought I think I'll go try 'em on in person so I know. I've had good & bad experiences ordering online & no matter how much you read fit is still a crap shoot. Also, I cannot skate worth a crap on the LS holder & would wanna swap 'em out for Pitch holders.

Hmmm, how's that NME skate fit? ;)

Mission EE is too tight for me at the toecap, but Supreme D fits just right for me. Also, rather than swapping holders, I got the steel on the LS2's profiled to match the Pitch +1 setting.

Mission EE is too tight for me at the toecap,

That was my experience with the Pure Fly's I skated on a while back. I made them work and loved them while they lasted. I've mounted Mission holders on all my skates since then. B)

I'm wearing 9.5D Vapor XXV's now (w/pitch holders). Good in the heel, too narrow in the forefoot, could use a little more depth midfoot, length was good at first but after break in are probably a 1/4 size long.

They're fine for a game or practice but I'm going to ref this season and I'm worried that my feet wont be able to stand them for multiple games in the same day.

That's what I thought, and what I saw when I tried on the '05's. If the heel isn't significantly wider than the Vapor's then it sounds like a winner.
