What do you call the game at the end of the skate around?

At the end of the warm ups, NHLers play a game w/ the goalie by surrounding him w/ one puck and they see how many chances it takes before it goes in. What do they call it?

This might be the game you're thinking of; we call it rebound. Basically, goalie is in the net, and there's a shooter around top of the circle, maybe a bit lower, and a handful of players evenly distributed along the sides. Shooter gets one shot. He shoots and scores, he shoots again, and continues to do so until he misses or is stopped, and then the group rotates. If a rebound pops out off of one of the shots, then any of the players on the sides can pick it up for a shot, or pass it off to another for a shot.

I know what you're talking about. The Devils do it at the end of warm up with their backup goalie. Someone will take a shot from the circle and all the remaining players on the ice try and knock in the rebound. If someone does get the rebound, others will try and hack it away from them. They only play one puck and also go to get it if gets knocked into the corner. Usually ends with everyone laughing...

I've heard it called Shinny as well...and Stick Boy..(Same rules as Juice), but for practices, the loser has to carry all the bench sticks back to the Locker Room.

Hope that was sarcasm at the end lol. We're talking about two different games here. First, whenever I've played (and what I've seen at NHL games) there is no out of bounds meaning if the puck goes in the corner it gets picked up and the game continues. Usually only the number of passes is restricted, or player movement.

Second, in NHL warmups the game usually ends after one goal. And I've yet to see any NHLer go get "juice" for another in a warmup lol. Especially if the goalie is a veteran.

I have a feeling we're talking about the same shit, just different pile. Same as pants and breezers.

I'm not talking about behind the scenes though...

Sounds like you've never been behind the scenes...

Trust me, it is called Juice Boy.

The reason behind the name is simple. They play for points and is set to end at a certain number of points. The goalie accumulates points for saves going beyond the "playing field" which is outside of the players and to the boards. The players accumulate points by scoring goals. So, say first to five wins.

Once that is done, if the goalie loses, he fetches juice (gatorade, water) for the guys and is known as Juice Boy. If the players lose, the player with the least amount of points becomes Juice Boy.

Do you really believe that these guys would play a game like that and call it "rebound"? Come on now...

This is exactly how two NHL goalie coaches have described it.

One very small note: my understanding is that if the goalie is able to catch or smother the puck, that's also a point for the goalie - which makes initial high-glove shots a bit of a double-or-nothing proposition for the shooter.
