ccm U+ 09

Recommended Posts

After about 15 minutes of searching I gave up, I KNOW I have seen something about this but just couldn't find it, even through the google search.

Okay so on to the actual topic. I was wondering what are the differences between the ccm u+ 09 skate (The skate priced around $289 USD) and the top end CCM U+ of last year. I have heard some really bad durability problems about that skate and I was wondering how much "better" performance wise it is.

Basically short version. What are the main differences between the CCM u+09 and and CCM U+ of last year?

Honestly, I looked at both the U+ (2008), the U+ (2009) and the U+ 09 and I'm not sure I could tell you the main differences other then pro spec U Foam over U foam and some different liners. I'm sure the weight is different...

I am going to evaluate the weight difference in the shop this week hopefully.

I am just trying to see if they are on the same level or at least close to each other.

Thank you for the info.

My son has had the V10's, 1st & 2nd generation U+ Pros and the new U+ Pro Reloaded (we have always skated in CCM/RBK). The 1st gen U+ Pro's fell apart, CCM warrantied them out with the 2nd gen's, which faired better but the mesh on the quarters still ended up ripping. CCM definitely got it right with the U+ Pro Reloadeds. The Surlyn quarters are pretty damn tough and my son has said it is his best skate so far (even over the 9k's).

If budget isn't a concern I would definitely go for the U+ Pro Reloadeds or any of the last generation U+ skates (make sure they don't have the mesh on the quarters). If cost is a concern look for the V10's they are a few years old and you should be able to get a good deal. They are a pretty durable skate and were CCM's top of the line at one time.

CCM Vector 10.s seem to run wide on my foot but after baking and the deal I am getting on the U+ I am going to give them a shot. Thanks for the help.

So if I am looking for a ccm U+ skate I should be looking for one with Surlyn quarters. Budget is sadly a fairly large deal because I am 16 and do not have a job at this point.

So the U+ reloaded and 09 U+ are not the only ones that have the surlyn package?

Okay one last question. I know these skates have 2 different fits but I am asking this as if the didn't. How does the CCM U+09 compare with the one75, in the quality of materials that are in the skate.
