Loved Missions. What now?

Recommended Posts

Alright guys, long story short, I literally tore the top two eyelets and the surrounding boot off my skate. Well, it's kinda hanging but... ...anyhow, the word is they can be fixed, and they might even last a few games, but not much longer due to the intense stress at that point of the skate. As a life long Bauer guy, it took months of reading and fitting before I finally took the plunge and bought those Mission AGX skates. ...and boy did I love 'em. ...of course as you all know, no more mission. So....

First off, there are still plenty of size 9D missions out there. Are 120s and 110s similar enough to buy online, since I can't try 'em at my LHS??? -Frankly, I'd go with any model that was bakeable, and had the Pitch3. The prices are so low, even if they don't last, it's not like you're droppin' a lot of dough....

....or, do I look into another brand all together. If so, any suggestions as to what might be similar. Ugh!!!

I know a lot of you guys love your gear, and staying up on the latest news and offerings etc. etc. I read the boards, find what I like, and then don't really care much after that point!! LOL ...I gotta tell ya I'm a little frazzled about the prospect of having to find new skates again!!!!

Thanks guys,

-Chris

I would avoid the 110s, especially if you are thinking about the AG style. Those things had some major design flaws that were mostly fixed when the 120s came out. I picked up a pair of 120s on closeout for 199 and got another 20% off because they were running a sale over labor day weekend. I probably should have grabbed two pair at that price.

I had some 120XP in my cart, but I didn't get them since I've never tried on Mission skates. I have no idea what the fit would be like.

Anyways, the 15% off is almost over now, I'm sure it will be back...

The fit of the XP line is comparable to the older Pureft line - straight walled, kinda narrow, but with what seemed to be a more straight-up heel. I just sold off a pair of L7's - they were half a size too long for me - if they were the right length I would have nver sold them...great skate.
