Response from Bauer:

"We are currently processing the order for your new stick. We will have it shipped out to you as soon as possible.

Thank you,

Bauer Hockey Inc. "

Hopefully I see it soon, I miss that stick.

used the stick for the first time lastnight and the response on the stick was pretty impressive IMO

only thing that bugged me was every time i took a pass it sounded like the blade was broken but after inspecting the stick its still in one piece

a kid on my highschool and travel team broke one within a couple weeks of having it, and he doesnt play hockey as heavily as i do (he plays about 2-3 times a week), and another kid i know broke his a couple days into having it on his 2-3rd skate with it..

Thanks to this thread I bought the shaft/blade combo, as I didn't really want to spend $300+ (with tax, damn Canada) on a stick I hear is having a lot of durability issues. Still came out to be pricey, but hey, it's cheaper to replace the blade than get a whole new stick.

Haven't used it much yet, but I think (aside from the obvious difference) the only major difference is that there's no extra material between the blade and shaft (pureshot profile or something?). So far, though, I love it. Accurate as all get out.

Doesn't show any signs of damage so far and I'm incredibly rough on sticks, but I've got three ice times this weekend so I'll post back on how it holds up.

UPDATE: After a couple more ice times, everything is holding up pretty well. Blade came loose, but a piece of tape solved that problem. Couldn't do a whole hell of a lot on the ice this weekend, but I still love the stick...

A former teammate of mine recently sprung for one and the blade broke on his 2nd or 3rd time using it. He was pissed, then he got the replacement and that shaft broke near the kickpoint too. He's not happy. This seems like really shoddy QC.

I've had mine for 2 weeks which is about 3-4 practices and games for me.

It's still holding up great, I've never broken a stick in my life before though so if this one does break, then it's a first!

BTW: Mines pro stock so...Maybe it's more durable, maybe not.

personally, I was unimpressed with the method they used to construct the blade. IMO it's intriducing surface defects on the layers of carbon fiber. I dont think the blade issue is shitty QC.

I've taken two shots with a buddys, loved the way it shot and was debating getting one... til i saw a broken blade.

Do you think they just rushed it into production, kind of like the first batch of s17's? Or was it something hard to figure out until everyone realizes it and complains?

Probably. I usually stay away from buying anything brand new (I made a compromise on this stick and bought the shaft/blade combo) because they tend to have defects that are fixed in the next round.

Sadly, it seems the cheapest QC for a company is to release a product and let the public do the testing.

Performance wise, though, the stick is great.

Atleast they do make an effort in testing their product. Not wide spread, but it is an effort. There is a team in canada that demos all their stuff before the GP knows about it (kid said he got an totalone stick already... don't know if true), and then they send stuff out to people like JR and stuff to demo it. Really though, i think every company should sponsor a AAA program, and give them the new shit to try it out. They play more than HS or college, and in NA except for juniors i think they play the most games a year.

Anyways, i think this stick is hit or miss right now in terms of durability. I haven't broken mine yet, and i've had it for a while. Conversely, some people who got the stick came back a week later and was like wtf? What's weird is my buddy who goes thru two sticks a month has had this for a full 2 months now, and its still holding up great. so, who knows what's up with that.

maybe a bit of both... i think it's more of a product of the right kind of testing. from what i know of their standard testing protocol, they're not really going to get good feed back on durability when it's garbage.

For those of you that got a replacement X:60, how long did it take to get a new one in the mail?

Mine came back in 5 days surprisingly, I live in Michigan though so not very far to ship.

Anyway though, one of my replacement x:60s has a nice fracture about two inches above the heel. Did anyone else notice though that their little flex markers were in different spots? I forgot to mention that before, but the same spot for cutting the sticks was about an inch where the flex markers were at on my replacement sticks. Not really a big deal, just seemed a little weird to me.
