Graf 704 to ?

Hi MSH,

I'm trying to fit one of my girlfriends teammates for a new pair of skates, what would you guys suggest going to from a graf 704?

She said that she's tried on the vapor 40s and the one 95s and the 95s fit better but still werent close to the 704, any help would be greatly appreciated.

I'm pretty sure the 704 was the exact look of the 703 but, no clue on the fit but, I'm guessing a shallow fit like the 703 or 705 it's one of those. Anyways if your girlfriend's teammate likes graf why not try on the ultra series? or the 700 series?

Yes, the 704 has the same fit as the 703. Outside material and stitching a little different. I would say get her a F60 if you can, or a 703/G3.

Mission AG 120 might work if you can find them in the right size. One90`s or Vapors might work too. Good luck.

I think the 704 was a narrower version of the 703, in Europe anyway.

The 704 is stiffer and lighter apparently. There are a few pairs still around online. What is her size?

She's in a 5.5 R, and thanks for the comments on the similar fir to the 703; after hearing that I'm thinking about going to a 703 in a N which I would hope fits close to the 704 in R. Another thing she told me last night was that she doesn't want to spend over 300 on a pair, being in JR skates will help that but I'm not sure if we'll be able to find a pair in her size at that price point.

I was going to recommend the G-3's but they might be out of her price range. If you look around a bit you might find some LHS's with the 703's on clearance and maybe in her price range.

I really dont think the 704 is narrower than the 703. It is just made lighter and stiffer and has the zig zag stitching on the sides like the 735s do.
