Slim shinguards

Recommended Posts

So after using nike apollo's which was a mid level smu shinpad for source for sports I decided after 3 years with them it was time to upgrade. I just saw the sale at national sports and picked up a pair of one75 shinguards with the 25% off coupon! My only concern is these pads look way bulkier then other pads I've seen and its very slim at the bottom which I can hardly tuck my skate tongues under them and feels really not that comfortable.. Should I give these a shot or swap em for something else? I did try on the s7's also and they felt pretty decent but the knee cap sort of felt kinda tight. Anyways anyone got suggestions? :P

I like slim ones myself. I think its easier to skate with them so that when i would turn, they dont brush each other. You can usually tell if your comfortable in them just by trying them on so if you have doubts, you should probably go with something else.

slimmest out there Bauer Vapor XXXX, super light and slim

so slim watch out you dont take a puck at the wrong angle (bone bruise for 3 weeks)

the Bauer XXXX are slim shin pads but the Warrior Hustlers are even slimmer. I bought both recently and was skating in NikeBauer One90 shins before that. I switched for exactly the reason you are trying to, too bulky at the bottom.

I like the strapping system on the XXXX's better but the Hustlers are definitely slimmer thought not quite as protective.

I want to give the one75 shinpads a chance and see if its just an adjustment I have to adjust or breaking them in. They are light but way too bulk by the calfs.. If these don't workout after sometime I will be looking into the eastons for sure. I tried on the vapor XXXX and they are a bit too slim for my fat calfs lol.
