87vert 0 Report post Posted November 27, 2009 I have had them shipped to me by USPS in just a flat box that was folded over and taped up. No problems so far, I haven't shipped one so I dunno on exact cost.
Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted November 27, 2009 There's been a few topics on this in the past. Can't search for one just yet, but I know Drewhunz has what has been refferred to as the best method. He basically triangulates the box around a stick and blade. He had posted a few pics of this. I've been following this technique many times, found it very strong and protective while one of the cheapest. USPS priority anywhere in the states is usually no more than 10 bucks or so... Brian Harte 1 Report post Posted November 27, 2009 I box them up. Real basic style. Rectangle box.I have received sticks "packed" in electrical tape and trash bags.....Not really my cup of tea.
Race4LastPlace 31 Report post Posted November 27, 2009 Depends on the length. Too long then USPS can charge a balloon fee, which bumps the price.I shipped a stick last month actually, usps priority with delivery confirmation. From Ky to Florida. Was about 12.50, give or take. Only time I've ever had it come up >20 was shipping to Canada or intl.I have received them in boxes, and bagged up trash bag and tape style. Sent them similar as well. The drewhunz technique is the best way, and not that expensive...
