Tapered Blades

Recommended Posts

Heyy

There was reading a thread about blades for smooth concrete awhile ago and i cant seem to find it again :(

Anyway, i play roller on painted smooth concrete and me and a couple of teammates are looking to buy atleast 10 blades for the surface. The composite blades we are using just get worn out to quickly

Where can we find a solid blade that will last a long time on the concrete. Tapered only and please no bauer or easton ( cant get them into australia )

Thanks

I used to use the CCM Vector 5 and the old Vector 8 (yellow and black) blades. They held up pretty well. Good luck finding an outdoor blade for tapered shafts. Don't think you have any options. I'm buying a standard shaft because I can't find any outdoor tapered blades.

Given the parameters you've set, I'd say you should try buying "standard" wood or wood/ABS blades (which should be readily available) & cut down the hosels so they would fit your tapered shafts. Maybe starting with an intermediate blade would require less work to "whittle it down" to size?

After CCM discontinued the V.5.0 blade I think your only option is to buy as many v.8.0 blades (yellow) that are left on clearance.

One of my friends uses them on asphalt, and they hold up as well as a blade can on such a shitty surface.

On the subject of tapered blade (+ one95) durability, has anybody ever tried to use a Bauer XXXX wood or Bauer X-60 wood or One95 wood blade on either concrete or asphalt?

For the price they are actually a tempting solution to bring back overseas (i'm visting the US for christmas), compared to buying shitty abs blades in europe that cost more here. (if the Bauers actually are semi durable on asphalt that is)
