How do you clean your helmet?

My helemt needs a good shine, what product do you use that don't cause any damage to the hemet?

I know a lot of refs that use the shoe shine sponges for their helmets.

Any "polishing the helmet" jokes will have adverse consequences.

Do you want to wash it to clean it, or wash it to make it look nice again? If it's black it will be easier than lighter colors of course. But gouges and scratches arent going to come out. If it's dirty/gunk build up a light mixture of water and a mild soap would go a long way without damaging the liner/glues holding everything together. Don't use anything strong like bleach, it will get in your eyes when you sweat. As for the shell give it a good rub down with the soap/water mix but don't use anything abrasive. Also, depending on the league your in, you don't want those certification decals to start peeling/fall off, so be careful in the back of the helmet.

Baby oil. Works for getting puck scuffs off of Tuuks also.

After wiping down my skates the helmet gets a good wipedown, hopefully avoiding the rust that plagued my last cage and hardware and keeping the glue healthy-ish..
