I''m writing a paper about the NHL's trap era, the lockout, and the overall effect on goal scoring, plus their combined effect on the TV ratings. So if anyone could help me, I need to quote some sources.

Question #1: Describe the impact of the trap era on the actual gameplay and did it affect the game positively of negatively.

Question #2: Of the rules added since the lockout, which do you think has had the greatest impact on gameplay and what changes have you seen in the game as a whole since the fall of 2005?

If you do answer, to quote you I will need your full name, general location, and you experience in hockey, even if it is just that you've been watching hockey for X amount of years.

The NHL's gameplay has changed vastly since the implication of the shootout instead of games ending in ties. There are many teams since the lockout that have been in the playoffs just because of the extra point earned in winning the shootout.

Yes I'm looking for opinions, I have plenty of statistical data. And Chadd the reason I started a new topic was because I didn't want to quote people without their knowledge of my using the quotes, so this way they have a fair warning that what they say is going to be used in my paper.

Post lock-out, I find the game has become much more about puck possession. If you have the puck the other team can't score. If i'm not mistaken, that's the whole strategy behind the Redwings.
