Wood Blade help?

Recommended Posts

Is there anyone that makes a blade with the ABS strip on the bottom like Montreal did? I am looking for a a durable wood blade and unfortunately they are not around anymore. Can anyone recommend one similar? Can I get ABS on the bottom of the blade as a custom option with a company?

the first generation RBK 1K wood sticks (dunno about blades) had ABS and it was extremely durable

Nowadays, your best bet is to go with Easton's ABS blade: http://www.rollerhockeymonkey.com/easton-s...t-blade-sr.html

Check out any local PIAS or even Sports Authority. I remember seeing some Canadiens there that had horrible curves, albeit an ABS strip down the bottom like their old blades.

I had some Koho pro stocks that had the ABS strip down the middle too. The old TPS blades with the kevlar strip on the bottom held up pretty well too.

Just called a local store to me - they reckon they can get the Montreal blades still, see here:

Montreal Xact Blade

Finally, something we can get over here that you cant :P

Happy to forward some on to you if you want - but i'm still not cfonfident that they can actually get them in...thought Montreal were finished? Unless their supplier has some massive stock of the blades.

I'm ordering one myself soon so i'll post up and let you know

I lost patience and called them up - they only had one left and reckoned they probably wont get any more in.

So i ordered the last Senior Left hand, to go with the Easton Carbon Tip shaft I got the other day - it's a vintage set-up!
