It would really be easier for you to tell us what you're looking at.

but...

With Eagle, pretty much everything is "Pro" quality, Canadian made. Eagle does have a couple of Chinese-made gloves such as the Eagle Special Edition(HG SMU) or the X3/X4/X5/X6 series. With the X# series the difference is size:

X3 = 10"

X4 = 12"

X5 = 13"

X6 = 14" and I believe this model comes with a lock thumb.

These really aren't low-end gloves, they are made to hit a certain pricepoint and I think they are very comparable to that $70-$100 pricepoint.

Just post what models you're looking at and we'll try to help. I'm going to guess since you're in the UK, you're probably seeing X50s, X70s and maybe some X80s and X90s. Someone here will be able to answer, guaranteed. If not myself, Chadd or other knowledgeable-of-Eagle members, Marcelo will surely know the answer as he was an Eagle rep... and well, he knows pretty much everything in the industry.

all Eagle gloves definitely have their own characteristics. the X# series is the lowest but even they're pretty good for the price. imo though the X4 is really closer to an 11.5 inch than a 12. I wear a 12.5 and can go pretty easily between a 12 and a 13. my X4's that I got on clearance at the local shop for $35 are just a little too short for me.

I have 3 pairs of PPFi (AWESOME gloves. 2 pre-Vaughn buyout, 1 post buyout), a pair of CP94's that belonged to Marc Savard and a pair of X4's.

What are your thoughts on pre/post buyout ppf's?

I really think the post buyout PPF's are a little tighter (especially around the top of the hand) and a little stiffer. still awesome gloves but I prefer the slightly looser feel of the pre-Vaughn buyout PPF's.

I rounded it up but yeah, the X4 is a 11.5"

How about the x72 compared to the PPF? Fit wise, are any comparable to the Bauer Four Rolls or Vapor XXX?

The X72 is a bit wider and also has a kangaroo pouch(Not sure if Vaughn kept it) to adjust depth(backhand to palm). Obviously the PPF has a longer cuff as well as a lock thumb. Neither fit like the XXXs or Bauer 4-roll. I'd compare it to an Easton pro 4-roll width-wise. Finger length is short, just like every Eagle glove.

Short fingers like the R8? The 3 gloves I like the most are the XXX, Pro 4 Roll and R8, any Eagle would be at least comparable? The pro Easton I like a lot too, but I'm a 13" glove and tried o.n a 14" so it wasn't perfect.

Hey Merry Xmas :)

You're right about me living in the UK - but they aren't really stocket much over here so have been looking at american sites.

Here's where I am right now - I went looking and found this page after clicking on the eagle icon:

http://www.hockeymonkey.com/eagle-sr-hockey-gloves.html

Now you can see why I'm confused - loads of different models etc but not in any kind of order

I will be 'investing' i.e. buying a quality glove to last me, and i'm a bit of a tart with gloves so want it to look good to. I like the leather look (shiny) and like a very 'big' glove that looks alost robotic, bit like the Warrior bonafide etc

I currently have 13.5" Easton Ultra-Lite gloves from like 8 years ago that seem to fit fine - but i dont know any better and cant get anywhere to try any on. They have worn right down and are giving me blisters on the side of my index finger now so time for an upgrade.

I think the X72 looks good, as does the X75. X90 looks too small. What does the 'i' mean after some of the model numbers i.e. 'X72i'

Anyhelp/advice appreciated.
