Question about Nike/Bauer widths

Just wondering if there is any way other than the tag sewn onto the tongues to tell what size/width nikebauer skates may be?? (in case say, someone swapped out tongues, or the tag got destroyed or something??) Any secrets other than holder length?

tuuk/steel length is only going to get you within a half size (either full or half use same holder). As for width you could probably tell by looking with a known D width and compare the too. If same, its D, if wider its EE or the E.

My pro stock One90's had no tag on the tongue, but if you take the insoles out it had DA width marked on the footbed.

Actually, I think it may be even more complicated than that. Just like in shoe sizes, a 7EE for example would not only be wider than a 7D but also slightly longer, maybe a 1/4 size or so. That's why if you look at the holder sizes in the Bauer catalog, the half sizes have a longer holder for the EE width than for the D width. For example the 7.5EE has a 272mm holder but the 7.5D has a 263mm holder. (For some reason this applies to all the holder models except the LS Pro.) Maybe JR or someone in the know could confirm this or not.
