Warrior Backpacks

Recommended Posts

Aside from being a little ridiculous looking, anyone using one? I was looking at the Hitman and Eraser packs, mostly because I'll be going up and down 3 flights of narrow apartment stairs with my gear and it looks a lot easier to manouver than a regular bag (I already got rid of the Shock Doctor...way too big).

I looked at the Easton bag (too small) and the Reebok (looks flimsy), and the Warrior looked like its pretty good quality.

i have a warrior macdaddy backpack. it was very convenient for me when i was living in a 10th floor apartment. it's kind of a tight squeeze to get everything in there. most of my stuff is L or XL, so i had to play tetris to make it work. i've found that it can be done if you put your shin guards inside each other, and put them in one of your pant legs, and your elbow pads and gloves in the other, and then put it all in the bag in one entity. not a lot of extra storage in these, but there are both skate pockets, and an accessory pocket that is big enough to hold some tape, towel, honing stone, etc. as far as quality, the bag is very durable. the handle and the shoulder straps have both held up very well, and the zippers are of high quality.

i have last year's macdaddy as well, and would agree word for word as to what ljl just stated. you do have to be a bit creative when putting your gear in, i also put my shins down one pant leg and gloves and elbows in the other. i also put my socks, tape and extras in the accessory pocket. also, having smaller feet, i can also fit a few extras into the skate pockets as well. the only other complaint i have is the top handle on my bag has already begun to rip away, not sure if it's because i use it so much.

if you use smaller equipment, it shouldn't be too much of an issue, but to be honest, i don't think i could bring myself to use the newer warrior backpacks as they're just a bit much in the looks dept. try looking for last year's macdaddy's instead as, imo, they're not as "loud".

edit: whoops, i have the '08 macdaddy. looks like they went with a more robust handle on the '09 model.

I have the Mac Daddy bag as well (09 I guess because I have a large rubber handle on the top) and I have 0 complaints. I place my pants in, with a shin and elbow in each leg. Helmet goes ontop of pants/shins/elbows. Gloves go right infront of the pants with all my jersey/jock/under shirt right ontop of that.

A slightly large pocket or another pocket on the front would have been ideal for pucks As I get a bit frustrated sorting through tape, pucks, wax etc.

The bag is very durable as well. I was worried after seeing a seam come loose on one of the shoulder straps, but six months later and nothing has changed with it, and the strap is still working 100%.

A friend of mine picked up the new Hitman Bag (looks awesome save for the guady Hitman text ont he front) and its the same bag as my MacDaddy... just looks different.
