The gloves have been a sleeper for the last couple years, good for the price. The problem is they just can't get their foot in the door anywhere for some reason.

national sports in the GTA has a ton of thier sticks...dangerous white i think...all 95 flex though.

they were clearing them out at 29.99 or 39.99 at one point. i have an ultra red that i picked up from the rink in vaughan its a great stick. great balance, amazing puck feel. 95 flex, light as hell. really like it however if they were available in mid flexes id jump on another one or two.

thats the one i've been seeing, just this white stick with rebellion written across the entire shaft, prolly explains why i've seen so much of them too

There used to be a VERY small sports store beside my house, the owner swore on rebellion skates and had more then one pair. Never seen another pair in person though besides those.

I had a demo pair, they were really bad. I recall talking to some of their old sales staff at a show a couple years ago and they were arrogant assholes. The new people are far more willing to listen to input on their product. Because of that, they have much better product.

do you have any ideas as to why?

i understand that retailers are always going to spend most of their budgets on the big brands that have proven themselves year after year and have super high exposure, is it a product issue or an open to buy issue?

I thought the stick prices were on the high side for an unknown brand. A lot of shops just don't have the budget to bring in an unknown brand, given the commitments they have to make to their bigger name brands. And a lot of shops don't want to work to sell a new brand, it's a lot easier when you have kids that just sit at the register and wait for you to bring up your purchase. Unknown brands require more effort and knowledge, and the right customers, to sell. I'm not sure what the cost is to open, I can check with the local rep later this week.

I had rebellion globves and liked them. Very light, sort of a Warrior Franchise feel to them. I also took some shots with a great shaft they had once with a rubberized type greip coating. It was way to grippy for me but the shaft had a very responsive feel for the puck. i also knew a guiy who had the skate and he loved them. Very much like the old Grafs but with a different pitch, more balanced and not as forward leaning. Overall they make a nice product and have had some pros using the gloves.

I had a couple of pairs of pro stock Rebellion gloves years ago from EWH. They were really comfortable and protective. They had the same inner label as old Muskokas and those old Easton pro glo four rolls. I could've sworn that all three of these models/brands were made at the same factory (Saw Sports?) as they felt pretty similar.

I always kind of wondered if the guy had to do something to do with the company, he always praised the skates and said they were fantastic, however seeing him on the ice after my game, noticed he was back in a pair of grafs again.

There are a few guys on one of my men's league teams that uses them (Rebellion sticks). It really is because one of the guy's on the team, his brother is a rep for Rebellion (or knows a rep, not sure of the exact relationship outside of "my brother can get you a good deal on them") up in the North Country (New York), and he has been offering guys a "break" on them. I believe it was $85-95 a piece.

I tried (someone else's) one and personally did not like it. However, I am extremely particular about my sticks (same setup for 15+ years). They are only getting one model, and I am guessing it is old stock as it is not listed on their site. It is black, with white/gray stripes down it, all 95 flex, maybe only 1 or 2 curves, and grip. I'm an absolutely non-grip, small curve (Kariya-ha!, Forsberg/Zetterberg, Modano, PM9), stiffest shaft I can get guy. Therefore, the Rebellion they are getting did not work for me.

A lot of guys like it (at least 5 guys got in on it), especially for the price (don't want to hassle looking for the best deal on an unknown - to them- stick at the price), and a couple still try to use them/get them. Again, just not for me because of the grip and flex. It feels like an okay stick, although I still think they are paying a bit too much. At $30-40, I would buy a dozen or more just to distribute. It seems that they do break a bit more frequent, and that may because of it being old stock or just opposing teams being hacks. But then again, the guys using them don't all play at the highest level, and most important, the price (and performance) works for them. It gives them the opportunity to get into a one-piece (non-wood).

I wanted to like them when they were first offered (probably 4 years or so ago), as I had not moved to a one-piece (due to prices) at that time. This would have given me the opportunity, although I ended up finding as good deals online. (Have to consider price when someone else is no longer picking up the tab!) Haven't really seen them outside of our locker room. The gloves do look nice. And besides, aren't there only a half dozen manufactures of this stuff, and a "company" is simply putting their name on it?!
