Need a really stiff stick! TPS R10 Stiff vs One85 112-flex?

Recommended Posts

I am currently using a U+ CL 100-flex (uncut, apx 3.5 inch wooden extension added) and don't find it stiff enough. I play defense and am quiet heavy, so am looking at picking up something stiffer.

The TPS R10 has that tri-flex points and is 115 where it counts in the taper. People rave about these TPS sticks and I was thinking that it would be worth a try.

The Supreme series has always been good to me for my primary focus (slapshots), but really took a dive for wristers. The One85 is cheaper than the R10 though....

The R10 seems like the better overall stick, but the One85 seems like it may be better for the slappers...

Any R10 uses that are in the 240+ weight category and/or take a lot of slap shots???

I can't decide....

I've used a R10, I felt that I needed to go up in flex because it felt too whippy. The stick is whippier in the hands. I wouldn't recommend it to you if you're looking for a stiffer stick.

Darn. I figured it would play whippy... Too bad, ideal pattern and all of the reviews seem great. I am also going to give TSR a call to see if they have any 112+ pro-stock One95's in stock... Pro stock sticks just give me the willies sometimes....

Lidstrom pattern hopefully. The One85 retail is what I was thinking (P106 pattern, close to a Lidstrom as I can get for retail Bauer). If there are no good One95 pro stocks from TSR, I will likely go the One85 route... I may also try emailing IW to see if they can confirm the availability of 115-flex Easton ST's. I doubt they are actually out there, even though the Easton catalogue says they make it....

I had a 100 flex One90 and found it to be really stiff, but it looks like the One85 might be good for you. Hockey Monkey has a pro stock 10K on their website in a 120 flex, and a bunch of different reebok prostocks in 110 flex. I picked up an 85 flex 10K prostock, and it seems stiffer than the 100 flex easton that I have.

Easton and Warrior are probably going to be your best pro stock choice. Last set of 110+ One95s I found were Aaron Ward (122) models from TSR. Nice, but a weird flat toe-ish curve. Ny 112 MyBauers aren't fitting the bill as much as I'd hoped.

I really like my one85 in 112! Great for Slapshots! I also have a 2010 Easton ST with a plug in 100 flex and I do not like it nearly as much as I like my 85! The only problem is I can not keep the puck down with the Staal curve on my one85. I don't seem to get near the velocity on shots with the st and it feels like it torques open on shots. It will be a good back up when I can afford a one85 or ak27 deluxe with the right curve to replace it.

They make a 115 flex easton st this year, its super long and it might be what you need/want.

How much longer? Have you seen it?

I just bought an st, but regular length. I could use an extra 4 inches, I am 6'7

LOL! I could use an extra four inches!

It won't meet your flex requirements but my Delisles from TSR came in. You can see where it looks like Bauer Stickfix'd an extension onto it, but it still checks in at 107 flex.

Hopefully it is not a Canada/US thing!

What flex?

I just called easton and they said they are all the same length. So if you have one I need to see if I can somehow get it down here.

Yeah, yeah... me too! I emailed IW to see if they have access to a 115-flex ST... regardless if it is uber-long or not!
