stevelknievel 51 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 i bought some reebok 4ks about 8 months ago, i picked those because i was told they were the widest and flattest skate i can get. since then ive had severe foot pain. ive had the skates ive had them baked, ive had the arch area punched out a little the boot stretched some and more recently got the area causing the pain really punched out which helped some but i still giving me alot of pain after a little while the manager who handled my skates at peranis recommended a new foot bed so i got some of those dr scholls inserts (the orthotics that are recomended for you afer doing all the tests on their machine.) they fit my foot perfectly, and it seemed to help while walking around in them. but when i went out today the pain came back like usual. its really bad if i lace them tighter, if theyre a little looser it helps some but i lose the ankle support i prefer. at this point im not sure what else to do and everyone else thats been helping me is kinda stumped too, does anyone have any idea or suggestions? i really need to get this taken care of so i can play more.thanks in advancesteve
HawksFan6 0 Report post Posted February 3, 2010 Hey, I had a similar problem in 9Ks a while back. I know the exact pain you are talking about - I tried everything in the book, but without unlacing the skates to a point where support was seriously reduced, I couldn't get rid of it. Eventually, I decided to go with the one95s and they've been nothing short of amazing. Honestly, I worked through the pain for way too long with no result (yes the skates fit properly too) Do you have flat feet? I suspect there is something with RBKs that puts a pressure point on your feet if they are flat.

SouthpawTRK 1 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 You might want to have your foot checked out by your local doctor or perhaps a podiatrist. One of my friends has a similar problem with his everyday shoes and sounds a bit like plantar fasciitis; but then again I'm no doctor.
HawksFan6 0 Report post Posted February 4, 2010 Yeah that's exactly the spot that killed me on my 9Ks. Seriously, try the one95 - I've had zero pain in that spot. I don't think that the heel cup had any effect on the pain I was experiencing in my RBKs - I think it was that the arch construction of the boot just doesn't match up well with flat feet. It's funny though because you can't tell the skate is going to hurt you like that by just trying it on...it only happens when you skate.
