X:60 Skate Issue

Recommended Posts

So I got the X:60's a couple of weeks ago and once I get on the ice my right skate feels like I am wearing a timberland construction boot with no support. I first thought maybe the holder was mounted incorrectly from the factory! So took a good look at it and wrenched it good and it was straight and solid. Then I thought my radius was way off so I switched the ls2 steel to my step steel that I just got back from bob at noicing sports and still no help.. Lastly I really tightend my right skate.. Tighter than ever before and this seems to help the problem... BUT there so tight my foots numb when I take my skate off. My left skate does not have this problem. My Vapor 40's never needed to be tightend to max of cutting off circulation.. The skates are not too big for me and bauers fit me better than any other skate so its not due to improper fitting... Anyone have any problems with there X:60's like this? Thx

Probably kind of redundant, but you've tried just tightening it up the last 5 eyelets and leaving the bottom ones loose? I leave the top eyelet free on my x60s and only really tighten up the 4 beneath it, and it seems fine.

Yes they were baked and both of my feet were measured. I have tried the eyelets as well.. If anything they would be to small which should help the support issue. It almost seems the right one was baked longer and is filmsey. I had one90's that were baked and vapor 40's that were not baked all in the same size and none had this issue... Maybe its defective?? Just didn't know if anyone else had this issue...

I have the same issue as well... Although my right foot is a touch smaller, I have never had this problem with any previous skates (Vapor 30 are most recent)... I am going to try a putting a Thinny sock over my regular skate sock for a slightly tighter fit, if that doesnt work, I'll have them baked again.

I would think baking them again would just make the issue worse... My right foot is bigger than my left and the right skate is the problem...

It could be a defect if the right skate lacks support. Most skates are designed to be baked, which speeds up the break in process. The heating softens up the foams and glue in the boot, allowing it to mold to one's foot. Assuming the skates weren't baked at too high a temperature, it could mean the skate has a manufacturing defect.

Last, have you taken them back to where you got them and shown them your issue?

I have the X60LE's and haven't had a problem. Put in Superfeet from my last skates and switch to waxed laces and I could not be more happy with them. The material they used on the inside of the boot is awesome.

weird... maybe the glues broke down or something... how long ago did you get them? maybe try calling bauer, see if you're one of a kind.

I had a similiar feeling in my X-60s when I got em last April. I tossed out the stock Bauer insoles and got some grey Superfeet and haven't had any problems since.
