shotty 7 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 I was in a slump and didn't score for like three games (I'm usally good for at least a goal a game). It wasn't just not scoring, I sucked all over the ice. Had a week off and now I've scored hat tricks in my last two games and played really well all over. These things ebb and flow. If you continue to work hard on the ice things will turn around. I'd say just focus on the little things and good things will happen for you.pfft. i went over 25 games. and my slump busting goal was from the far blue line, beat four guys and went five hole. my problem is that i forget about how nice it feels to score a goal, especially a nice one, because i focus more on being a shut down type player, or making good first passes and CREATING goal scoring plays... then after a while i say "damn i haven't scored in a while" and its like i have to re-teach myself to commit to creating quality chances for myself when i can, instead of others.i think thats what makes furlanitalia such a strong player. he has the ability to change his style at any given moment and capitalize on opportunities. he doesn't have any tendencies. Thanks! It also helps that I have to drive an hour just to get to the rink so I have a lot of time to visualize and think positively.
Rink Rat 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 Damn it, we got mercied 8-0. They are that good. I was on the third line and got a couple shifts, my first shift we got scored on then my coach started playing lines 1 and 2 only, so my next and last shift was in the third period with good linemates. I did great, kept up easily with them and kept the play in their end. Whatever, the season is over so I can work on becoming an admirable upperclassman over the summer. Dubbs 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 Well the mercy rule part sucks, but that last part is the kind of positive thinking to use moving forward.
shotty 7 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 i cant stand the mercy rule. we're not 10 years old. we can deal with the emotions that come along with getting murdered out there.a team i sub for got mercied a few games back, when the 3rd period ended there was still 25 minutes of ice time left over. pissed me right off. I go hard from the drop of the puck to the last buzzer so when there is 30 seconds left on the clock don't run it down. I don't care what the score is, just let us play with the ice time we paid for. Dubbs 0 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 Agreed, I think an 8 goal lead in my leagues results in a running clock even if you close the deficit to under 8, but still, don't rob people of ice time they paid for.
Chadd 916 Report post Posted March 11, 2010 In our league the losing team decides if they want the clock to run after a six goal deficit.
