Tapered Blades

Recommended Posts

I was in this predicament, couldn't find any around here (toronto) for less than $89 each. And even when I walked into Just Hockey they told me no body uses two-pieces and that they would be obsolete soon. I saw that National Sports was blowing out Mission VHex blades so I stocked up. I got 4 for the price of 1. So I'm good for a decade at the rate I play. haha

I think you should sell me those blades. They would go great with my mission vhex shaft. Good move on your part.

Which National Sports store was it that you found the VHex tapered blades? I don't ever recall seeing Mission blades at NS.

How is the durability on the VHex? I used a Mission blade before, and I find the botton of the blade cracks rather way too quickly.

The blade on my ops vhex was great. In never broke over the course of the year. The stick broke somewhere low enough on the taper, that I made a sweet shaft out of it and it was the perfect length too.

I wish I could get the Heatley pattern on a tapered blade from Easton, but it seems that this is not available...was thinking I could get one of those wood synergy pro's and carve the hosel down. Has anybody tried this?

^ i've done it.

i'm sure there are many ways to do it successfully, but i took the dimensions off a warrior blade and filed down the wood hosel. worked great. one thing i didnt even think of doing until after was to melt all the glue off first instead of filing through it. idiocy.

in the end, i dont bother with wood blades anymore as i find they go sooo soft sooo quick.
