The true unsung heroes to any sports team, without these guys a team will go into chaos. We all know what a minor equipment malfunction can do to your game. The work they put into without the recognition they deserve.

Kudos to all the equipment personnel out there.

My sons mite team got to skate in between periods at the Wild-Hawks game wednesday. before the game as the kids were bringing their gear to a locker room we turn a corner and there is Kane and a few other players getting loose. When Kane saw the kids coming he jumped off of the exercise bike he was riding and gave each of the kids a high 5 and said something like " I sure hope we dont have to play you guys". It really was a great thing for him to do, and all of the other Hawk players that were there were great as well.

Heard a similar story from a teammate. Madden and Ladd were watching the pregame mite game and got up on the bench and starded coaching and giving pointers. The kids had no idea who they were until the coach told them.

They left a signed puck for every kid too.

I always love hearing those kind of stories about pro's.

I find it odd that Kane couldn't figure out if his own stick was broken.

Ladd looks like he uses a very nice curve.

Pretty sure Ladd uses a sakic clone, could be wrong though.

As for the Kane thing, I have met him a few times. If he is talking to anyone other than younger kids he is very arrogant. Most of the other hawks are very friendly and are willing to talk to anyone. Byfuglien played for one of my coaches back when he was the chicago mission and I must say he is one of the most friendly guys I have ever met, he was happy to talk to everyone who was skating with us when he came out and hung out with us in the locker room for awhile.
