RBK 10K - Thoughts?

I just picked up a pair of RBK 10K's. Wanted some thoughts from other MSH members on their personal experiences with this skate?

Its a really good skate for the money. Imo the only skate that competes with it at that price range is the x50, but assuming these fit better, you'll be very happy with it. We haven't got any in yet so I can't speak for quality issues on the final product, however, when presented them last winter it looked and felt extremely rigid. You should be happy with them.

Definitely a great skate for the money. Picked these baby's up for 400. Even though it's my first time using reebok, I'm really pleased with everything. The fit is very good and I like the added comfort of the pump. Not much to say for the durability, just got them this weekend. And the material in the quarter package is extremely heat moldable. Not to mention the skate is very light overall. Can't wait to use them.

I bought these skates as I was told they have the widest toe cap. Would you guys agree, or is there something with a wider forefront without getting a huge heel area?

I want to say the Supreme line of skates but I'm not an expert.

They feel fairly decent, they hurt in the toe area when I stand straight up. My LHS told me they are going to put it on a stretcher and that it should relieve any pressure. I'm slightly skeptical as I don't see that toecap/forefront area expanding much in terms of width.

I tried on the Supremes (one95) and they fit fairly decent too, although I can really feel the stitching where the toecap is sewn into the boot. I can see this causing me a lot of pain when I skate.

Yeah, Rbk has definitely adjusted their toe cap. The whole standard is a lot wider than other models. I came from a CCM E and a NBH EE to a D size in Reebok. But Reebok also has the most sizes for width out of all brands.

My LHS told me they wanted to try and stretch the forefront to see if it helps with the pinching, I told them that I have tried this before on other skates and it was not helped. I was told I could return them if they didn't fit right after stretching, what does a LHS do with skates that are returned and have already been baked and stretched?

Not sure what they'll do, I've had them stretched, it helps a bit. Anyways, as far as it goes, they may sell them back at a cheaper price. Skates can be re-baked up to 3 times. Personally, unless they've gathered tons of sentimental value, I wouldn't worry too much about that.

Is it OK to buy a larger size skate so that I can get a bigger toe box? I tried on a few larger sizes and didn't seem to have any heal slippage.

If the RBK's are not wide enough maybe try some flexlite 4.0's. They are still pretty good skates and are suppose to be have a very large toebox if memory serves me correctly.

The thing with Flexlite's is they tend it be wide throughout the boot. I only really need width in the toes.
