blisters

Recommended Posts

I've got a small blister developing (got TOs few days ago & skated in them for the first time), but there's a game coming up in a few hours

Is there anything I could do to protect that spot from tearing up? I tried bandaid in the past, but it often makes the matter worse since it ripps of, rollls into a small ball & makes even more damage.

I did a search & found nothing, so a quick response would be much appreciated!

Pad the hell out of it in your skate, but otherwise nothing. You can't make yourself heal faster, so there are no quick fixes. Possibly use a pin to drain it if it is excessively large, but leave the outside skin intact (dont rip it off).

I saw this drink online somewhere that helps you grow an exo-skeleton but I can't remember where I found it.

dude use mole skin, no doubt it works amazingly and is cheap. I used to use it all the time, if you can't get any of it use cotton balls and like thin makeup appliers (sp?) But I would highly recommend mole skin, you can get it anywhere the sell bandaids and stuff haha,

This guy's opinion is that you need to buy blister pads. In my experience moleskin isn't thick/padded enough.

Tape your ankle/foot where the blister is. You put a piece of tape backwards and then tape over it. Only a couple of turns. It will help prevent your sock/skate rubbing on the blister and makig it worse. I used that technique when I played nets and it worked out really well. Get some wide medical tape but don't put a bandage or anything. Just a layer of tape upside down and a couple of layers taped the right way and you should be good to go.

I never really got blisters from skates, but when I did have a blister on my foot from something else, I covered it with a blister bandage, and then before I put my skate socks on I used Body Glide all over the blister bandage and surrounding area to reduce friction.

It's basically stuff runners use to stop chafing and blisters themselves. You can sometimes find an "anti-blister" stick in the pharmacy by the bandages which is pretty much the same thing.

Now, because I have weird feet and can't quite justify customs yet, I use that Body Glide before every game on my feet to help out the tender spots. Haven't had a blister since.
