cyclone89 0 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Hey, Im moving over to Morristown in July from Ireland, and was wondering if anyone knows of any good stores near here. I know theres a few rinks, but cant find any info on stores. I normally get my stuff off hockeymonkey, but will need a full new set up, so would rather go in store. Thanks
coryroth24 15 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 I actually coach over at Mennen Arena which I'm sure you figured out isn't too far from you. They have a small shop with a limited selection. 25% off all protective equipment sale has been going on for a while. It might be worth it to check them out to see if you can get any deals. Other than that, you have Non-Stop Hockey about 25 minutes away in Cedar Grove. Never been there, but I hear nothing but good things about them. Then there's also the pro-shop at Floyd Hall Arena in Little Falls (about 30 minute ride). Pretty nice selection, prices might not be the best, but the guys I've talked to there know what they're talking about for the most part. That's all that I can think of that would be worth a visit. Good luck with your move!

coryroth24 15 Report post Posted May 12, 2010 Don't know anything about the inline scene. I played one season of inline when I was in high school and hated every minute of it! The guys at Mennen's shop should be able to do the conversion for you as they have a pretty good set up. Try to get the older guy who runs the shop to do it though. He knows skates inside and out even though he mainly does figure skates. But a chassis swap should be no problem...
Ltrain 0 Report post Posted May 13, 2010 As far as shops in close vicinity, you can also try Ed K Ice Sports in Whippany off of Route 10. It's a small shop but they have a good selection. If you are willing to travel a bit, (about 45 min north) you can visit MSH member Darkstar50 at the Ice House Pro Shop in Hackensack NJ he'll take good care of you. -L

BenderHockey 127 Report post Posted May 14, 2010 Never played inline in Morristown, but I've heard good things. The rink itself is just ok, and the business end of it is hot garbage. Goes in and out of business more often than I change my drawers!

Sputnik20 46 Report post Posted March 2, 2011 I'm surprised nobody said anything about Aspen Ice in Randolph, it's only 15 minutes away and has one of the biggest selections around, and the skate sharpening is better than most.
