What options do I have on toe caps for custom Bauers?

Recommended Posts

I have duck feet so I need a wide toe cap. I like the depth of the One95's, but I find the vertical depth in the toe cap too much. Comparing Bauer to other brands - it seems like Bauer toe caps are significantly deeper than any other brand.

What are my options here?

i have duck feet too (6.5 EEEE/B <-thats not a typo) and got custom x60's. the options that were given to me were the vapor, supreme, or flexlite toe cap. i went flexlite because they were the widest.

no way the flexlite toe cap is the widest. I just had them on and if you compare them side by side with the supreme line - you'll see that the flexlite inexplicably has a rounded toe cap (which would pinch in the big toe on a wide foot), while the supremes have that anatomical toe cap.

In fact, if it wasn't for the stupid friggin' cap - I would just get stock flexlites, but there is no way I can deal with that pressure on the side of my big toe.

You can also get the old nylon toecap as well.

Does that have less vertical volume? I really hate all the up and down movement my toes have.

really? that was what i was told, and my toes fit perfectly fine in my skates.

Have you considered adding some kind of filler to take up the negative space. I was on vapor XXV's ('07) and picked up one95's this x-mas and I feel the same way about the excess vertical room in the toe area.

I'm just too lazy/leery of adding something that might retain moisture as I can't think of any cheap and readily available material to use.
