Problem with Pitch 3 holder

Recommended Posts

I recently purchased a new pair of Kor shift 1's a few months ago with pitch 3 holders and I have a problem with the holders itself. The idea of being able to change your pitch yourself is a great idea however, when I set the pitch setting to +1, they don't stay in place. After getting my skates sharpened I noticed that my right skate has set around neutral, and my left skate was worse at -1!

Any known fixes for these? It's a little tough because they don't make the holders anymore so any help would be appreciated.

Rear female bolt tooth is compressed to the point it doesn't hold it.

I gave them the square bolt idea, unfortunately didn't have the foresight for the rear female bolt.

I have no idea. When I first got these skates the first thing I did was set them to +1. A few months later after a sharpening I noticed that the pitch settings on each holder were pretty off. I'm not a heavy guy by any means (only 150lbs) and the bolts that keep the holders in place are pretty tight so I'm not sure myself how this has happened.

Is there a possible fix for this JR? Or should I just go with new holders? I heard it's very difficult to put new holders on shift 1s.

I searched my local LHS' and contaced Mission Roller (for ice I just got redirected to Bauer) but no dice. It looks like i'm SOL. Any other options at this point? How hard is it to install new holders on Shift 1s?

Your only option is Tuuk Custom + and sometimes it goes well, sometimes it doesn't.

Just make sure you don't lose the anchors when you remove the bolts. Just be gentle with it.

Keep an eye on eBay, for a while there were PITCH holders being posted every week for under $30 for the pair.
