Cracked Shaft

Alrite well I took out the blade from My XX, wouldn't really stand the P71 curve and put my only extra tapered blade I had in, my synthesis Modano. I got a little impatient while I heated the shaft to get the blade out. So I twisted the blade a bit, and I guess I cracked the shaft. It's not very big maybe 1/2" up from the bottom of the shaft. Will this effect the Performance or Durability? Should I just chop that part off because it shouldn't effect the performance.

I would imagine it'll just spread up the shaft, so I'd cut it off and add more plug.

Is the crack on the corner? If it's on the back it'll probably crack from the flex of stick. Will you be able to keep the taper if cut 1/2"?

I wouldn't think so. Just the shaft to normal tenon length, and stick a Z-Carbon in it.

Assuming it will fit after you cut the shaft, it should change the performance as you will have changed the position of the kick point.

I ended up cutting it. It still fits the taper, I've yet to use it, but will give an update when I can. It wasn't much I had to take off. Probably the size of the nail on your pinky finger.

Well if it's only that much my guess would be that it's not a big deal and won't really effect the preformance of the shaft.
