shockdoctor powerdry issues

Doesn't look like SD are making them anymore. You can still find them for sale. In your situation it might be the best solution, a one bedroom is tough! Do you have basement space you can use?

I did the same as althoma1 the SD bag/blower stayed at home and carried in another bag. And it does take 2 cycles to work. Also the blower air still does leave the bag and even with the filter, you'll get some odor.

I rarely use the bag now as I mentioned above, a basement is just too damp (except in the winter) to work. A box fan works better because I just leave it on all night.

No basement or alternative area to keep it in unfortunately. The only thing that worries me is whether there'll be any customer service available on the product if they no longer manufacture it. Would like to have some option available if problems arise.

You can email SD about it. See what kind of warranty there would be, but I am sure it wouldn't be anymore than when they were being made. My blower is still kicking after 5 years, slightly nosier than it was and the dial broke off in year 1.

I live in an apartment here in Boston - couldn't live without it. I have the high output blower and this bag: http://www.hockeymonkey.com/shockdoctor-912-power-dry-hockey-equipment-bag-32in.html

It takes one, 2-3 hour cycle to dry; it's important that you place your equip in the right place in the bag; also, I take out laundry - socks, shirts, base layer...all that stuff.

I don't know if SD will back it up; but the thing is pretty well made and is holding up well. The quality control issues were mainly with the 1st generation - so make sure to get the high output and I bet you'll be fine.

I find a box fan to be much more effective than the SD bag/blower. Plus, a new 20" or 24" box fan will run you only $30-40, and much more versatile.

The only time I use my SD is when the box fan is being used for another set of equipment already in the household.

Yeah but he's in a one bedromm apt. Atleast the bag is compact, hard to track down a high output or any blower now. Maybe call your local shops see if they have any left.

When you mention using a box fan, are your removing all the equipment first and then shooting the fan at it? Or do you simply unzip the bag and point the box fan at all the equipment stacked up?

I remove my gear from the bag and hang it up on a hockey tree. The box fan is then pointed towards it. Compared to a 6 hour dry time period for the SD, my box fan dries everything up within 30 min give or take.

I use a box fan in a small basement storage room. My gear is hung on a pegboard or on a plastic shelf. I turn a fan on and shut the door. I think you need to get you gear out of the bag for it to really dry.
