  1. I just picked up a pair of luxe, a ballistik 45 cal shaft w/ ballistik 52cal blade (old stock, dirt cheap), and two 45 cal 1 piece sticks, 90 flex cc curve shaft feels a bit too whippy (80 flex), but for the price I paid, it'll be a good backup
  2. niXon, did you find they don't have as much bite as stock steel? I played with them last night, I can't do a direct comparison to my ls2.1 since I was almost out of steel and the blade had become very narrow on the sides...that was the main reason for the change with the velocities, I had them profiled before playing to 11 foot radius, I felt fast as heck out there, had one of my best games in a while, but I felt they lacked bite and I wasn't going hard in tight spots like I did before...not sure why, same guy I always use for my skates, if it's the profile or the lack of bite or the steel I am happy with the purchase and what I paid (he left them for almost the same price as the 2.1's)...we'll see in the next few games how they fare
  3. can't really tell, well maybe the luster will give it away but it's step velocity first game with them tonight
  4. I just posted what I took want me to take some more? lol

    Ballistik 45 caliber

profile: 200lb, 6'0, defense, decent shot, decent hands. have stick in 90 flex and 80 flex, both TC pattern, 5.5 lie...about 3 years ago, I was offered to use a 22 cal during a game of drop in, from a rep...I said sure, I loved the stick and been a ballistik fan since. Feel - compared to other sticks I've used, the feel is good. I find the blade a BIT on the soft side, but other then that, no complaints. The shaft itself is a bit on the fat side. 9/10 Weight - I find it very light, ballistic lists it at 465 grams, which is from my understanding, one of the lighter mid range sticks. I am coming from a 2 piece setup that felt a bit bottom heavy, this I find very well balanced. It can be lighter, but for a mid range stick, it's great. 10/10 Flex - I first got the 90 flex, and I found it a bit stiff, unless I really get into my shot...for me, while doing quick releases the 90 flex is a bit too stiff...when I first got the two sticks, one of my sticks bottom started to crack (had 2x90 flex), ballistik exchanged it, I asked for an 80, which they said was fine, and the 80 feels great for quick shots, but if I get into it with my shots, the puck seems to soar a bit high...I can def feel a difference between the 80 and the 90, and it is as expected. 9/10 Shooting and Passing - I don't have the greatest shot, but I find the stick shoots as good as any other stick I've used, both wrist or slappers. For passing, receiving is great, even though the curve's a bit aggressive. the soft blade seems to shine here. 9/10 Durability - I had the first one snap at the bottom, about a month of ownership, ballistik took it back, no issues, and said it may have been a manufacturing defect. The other 2 I've had for about 5 month, of about 4 ice sessions a week...they've held up great. 10/10 Price - I bought these on clearance at 90$ each from the 180$ normally...really happy with the purchase, I've used the 22 cal, and loved it, glad I was able to step up to this stick for not much money...for 90$ what kind of mid range stick can you really get...I'll def be looking at another one when it comes time to replace them, even at the higher cost. 10/10 Overall - for the price I paid, nothing can come close. I would highly recommend it even at full price. 57/60.
  6. Foot spec - unsure Last skate worn - Graf 609's Size - 9.5C Fit - I have a very picky foot, and I use to have a pair of CCM's that NEVER fit me right...that's why I ended up with the graf's...I dont know what I was doing when I tried on the one95's, I think I had time to kill, but I was surprised as to how well it fit my foot...I read online, everyone seemed to like it...so I went back, tried it on again, this time I kept it on for 15 minutes, no pressure points, I bought it...after heat molding it fit GREAT office..., the first 2-3 skates, it was awful stiff, I couldn't skate in it...no pressure points or anything...after that I got a game or two with REALLY bad lace bite...about 6-7 skates in, it felt great...I forgot I was wearing it...the ONLY thing is my heel sometimes lifts if I don't tighten it enough...or if I wear wet socks (back to back games) 10/10 ... I knew what I was getting, and after molding it, it only got better. Performance - I had a really steep learning curve with the skate and didn't feel comfy t'il about 10 skates in...new pitch, new fit...not as much of a wrap around as the graf...about 30-40 games in, I decided to wear the graf's to compare them...that's when the performance of the one95's were obvious...I put on the graf's...I walked, stepped on the ice...took 20-30 strides, hated it (and I LOVEEDDDD these skates before), got off, and put the one95's...they felt unresponsive, loose, and awful...after putting the one95's, I can say it's obvious these skates turn on a dime, and perform amazing 10/10 Blade/Holder - it was awkward at first to sit at a neutral pitch coming from a forward pitch, but I knew that going into it...and I've adjusted fairly well...I think I like being neutral more, go figure...I might have to get some heel lifts and compare, but for now I am happy...steel holds their edge for as long as my cobra's did...or so it seems...I'm happy 10/10 (-2 wrong size) Weight- I didn't notice a diff from my 609's, but after weighting them on my food scale, they are fairly close...I don't care about weight, but as stated, they're light, not freakishly light, and it wasn't enough for me to notice a difference on the ice...since to begin with they seemed to be similar 9.5/10 Protection - last playoff game, took a shot to the skate...I was maybe 3 feet away from the guy...full slapper, landed on the outside of my right skate...it stung...but that's IT...I saw the guy wind up, and thought '@$!!%"...it exceeded my expectations in terms of protection, I for sure thought I would be hurt, but I was ok 10/10 Durability - I have about 60 sessions into them, and they look great, a few nicks and cuts from other skates, but that's expected wear...I am happy 10/10 Conclusion - If I had to do it again, I'd buy them again in a heart beat...love these skates, and worth every penny...I don't think I can ever own a mid/low end skate again. Overall - 59.5/60
