Vapor XV Blade

Recommended Posts

The Bauer website mentions "Wave Bridge" construction for both the Vapor XX OPS and the Vapor X blade (standard hosel). However, there is no mention of Wave Bridge in the description of the Vapor XV blade, only "Innovative composite technology". I realize that these are just marketing buzzwords, but is there something different about the XV blade design / manufacture that makes it different from the other two? Thanks.

I think it'd be pretty safe to assume that they're more or less the same blade, unless someone can varify that they are infact differently constructed.

felt em in great skate, they have a rougher finish than the wavebridge blade and are alot heavier.

Are you sure that you were comparing the XV (tapered, short hosel) and not the VII (standard hosel) to the Wave Bridge? For a tapered short hosel blade to be heavier than a standard hosel is pretty unusual (except the Mission Ether composite). Also, Great Skate's website lists only the VII and not the XV blades, although the store may carry more than the website inventory.

I believe they're called Hardfast. No idea what that means.

I think they're called Holdfast, although that gives me no greater insight than hardfast.

Speaking of the wavebridge - what is everyone's thoughts on the blade? The look pretty decent and if it's the same as on the Vapor XX, the feel is pretty decent.

Are they durable? They don't seem quite as stiff as some other composite blades (atleast the XX didn't seem that way when I fooled with it at a shop).

Also, does Inno still make the bauer composite blades?

Like Timber said, and you also, it is Holdfast. I think it is something like a Si-Core, because when I enlarge the pic on ePuck, I can read "Dampens Impact - Increases Control" on the blade.
