Help choosing a stick

Recommended Posts

So recently posted a thread detailing the lack of durability of Bauer vapor sticks I had been using and enjoying until they (IMO) broke prematurely. Based on the recommendation of a friend I purchased a new one95 in the same flex and blade pattern, but I do not like the feel of the stick at all.

To me 102 flex one95 flexes more noticeably than the vapor of the same flex. I also don't like the higher flex point, nor the square shaft. Does any have a logical recommendation that fits the rounded shaft, low flexpoint, and durable criteria?

My thoughts are:

1) continue buying vapors and enjoy them until the shaft snaps when I have taken the undetermined maximum amount of slapshots and/or one timers

2) Try out a warrior dolomite - as from what I've read is seems as if it may fit my criteria for the stick. Obnoxious graphics are such a turnoff with the warrior sticks though.

I hate to keep spending $150 on experimenting with sticks to find out they are not what I like.

Ever think about trying out a BASE stick? Very plain graphics, however a great stick. Performs as well as the 250 dollar sticks, at a 150 dollar price tag.

Was hoping to stay with something more readily available, however the bit I have read on BASE has been positive.

Where are you breaking your sticks? Myabe go back to shaft blade combos? I'm finding that these are lasting longer for me with great performance.

I was thinking the same thing. To me, the graphics on the newest Dolo aren't as loud.

I have been breaking the vapors at the bottom third of the shaft. I was thinking if I was breaking the shaft on the OPS, it wouldn't really make a difference if I went to the shaft blade variety, unless there is a variable that I'm overlooking.

Sickwilly - the newer warriors are getting better with the graphics. However the majority of the stick covered in neon green, blue, or orange will have me feeling like a bit of a D-bag skating around with it. If it's the next best option I guess I'll have to just get comfortable with it, let my play speak for itself, and not worry about how flashy and juvenile the stick I'm using looks.

The Dolomite best fits your criteria. There aren't many rounded shaft profiles out there and even the Dolomite got more squared this year, so you may have to look into older ones.

Well I guess I'll give one a shot. I wish there were more lefty's on my team so I could try some other guys sticks without buying experimental ones, but from what I've read the Dolo was what I was thinking about next too.

For what it's worth, my BASE stick feels heavy after using x60's for the past year. Too heavy, it's now collecting dust in my closet...
