CCM vs Bauer Pro Pants - Do you know these

Recommended Posts

Included are two links for pro-grade pants.

One is a CCM, another is supposed to be a Bauer college pro.

I don't have a way to try either on, price looks good on both for a pro pant.

If anybody knows these, had any experience with these, please help.

Here are the links:

Bauer:

CCM:

I am hoping somebody may have experiences with these in terms or protection offered (lower spine, kidneys, inside thigh), weight, durability. Where are they made?

Thanks in advance.

If I am not mistaken CCM sticks are made in Canada so I am assuming Pro Stock Pants would be made in Canada as well. I would go with the ccm if I was you. However I have no experience with eier pant, so I am not much help there.

I love my CCM pro pants!! Tons of protection but I don't feel any restriction in movement. Might not feel the lightest when you hold them but you don't even notice them when you wear them. I've only had them for a few months so I can't really comment on durability. They're holding up really well so far.

Thanks Michael. Which model do you have?

Bauer's are lighter weight and more mobile. The hip protection is almost not there, it's very thin. CCM is much more beefy.

Thanks. Sounds like these Bauers are not going to be an option.

I am still kicking myself for not picking up a pair of those TB pro rturns you had couple of years ago.

I've actually used the CCM's. Well at least I think they're the same (pro tacks). It looks like the ones I have might have been a previous model as the logo in the front isn't the new logo but the tacks logo is the same. The rest of the pants look identical though.

They are quite beefy and definitely will protect you. I haven't had a fall or anything that hurt. Kidneys are thick and protective, inside thigh and lower spine aren't anything to write home about. The inside thigh has a zipper but no material that folds out when unzipped (at least on my model). They are pretty heavy, especially when compared to the Bauer One75 (only thing I have to reference them to, see below). I've worn them for a few years and they are still in pretty good shape except for the eyelets are starting to rust and the fabric around them are starting to tear a little.

One major issue was that the girl I was seeing said they made my butt look huge so out they went. I bought the Bauer One75 thinking I didn't need the top of the line pants for beer league and boy do I regret it. My butt now looks great but is constantly bruised from falling.

One thing to note is that the ones I had were really tight for a Medium. I'm a 32 waist and could barely get them on when I first got them. I contacted the shop and they said that's how they're made for some reason. They eventually stretched out and are pretty loose now. Just something to keep in mind if you're a big guy.

I will see where they're made when I get home.

Looking for some pants myself since mine are over 10 years old and dont really protect me the way they used to. I can tell you this, went to try....sorry, I held the one75 pants and it was the biggest piece of shit pants ever....it had less protection than my old ass ccm pants....boy was I disappointed. Could not believe that bauers "second best" pants in supreme line were that bad. Sorry for hijacking the thread but any tips on good pants with a good protection/mobility ratio?

Damn, one75's get thrashed on msh for protection. I've found one70's(pretty similar to one75's) to be fine for junior B hockey. Getting hit with a slapshot never hurts
