e-pro to Pitch holders

Recommended Posts

I've been using e-pro holder for a few years now. I basically have them sharpened and use them as they are. No profiling, etc.

I recently bought a pair of Kor Shift 2's with Pitch holders. Has anyone made a similar switch? If so, I'm wondering what setting you'd recommend on the Pitch for a similar feel. Does the +1 forward pitch setting feel most like the e-pro?

Thanks!

I also came from E-Pro to Pitch and put them on +1...tried the neutral first and felt to be on my heels to much...but it's a lot of a mind thing too...I am swapping the steels for sharpening and 'forgot' one runner in the neutral position, and only checked it afterwards in the dressing room...this made me doubt a little...especially about my skating ability ;-)...no seriously, I just didn't notice..

I've found it depends on what boot the E-Pros are on as well - Reebok boots tend to have slightly more forward pitch built into the boot than their CCM counterparts. If you've switched from Reebok equiped EPros they would probably be cloer to the +1 setting on the Pitch holders than the 0. I had 3mm heel lifts put in my Vectors and they were a slight bit more forward than my L7's were set in +1.

In any case, mess around with it like everyone said. I think the rocker is a little shorter on the Missions - 10 vs 11 I think, but I may be wrong. The Pitches are great holder with great steel in them. Enjoy.

Wasn't quite sure where to put this, and it's not really worthy of starting a new thread...

Were black Pitch holders ever sold at retail? I thought I saw a picture on here one time.

No. The ones you saw were from Mission's product manager at the time.

I tried 'em tonight. I may have to set them at +1, when I can find a tool for the blades/holders.

The special tool is just a #3 Robertson screwdriver. Sears, Lowes, Home Depot, etc will have them.

I found a bit that works for them. Thanks for the suggestions. Due to injury, I haven't been able to try them with the +1 setting. It won't be long, though.
