Tapered/low pro shin pads

Recommended Posts

I might spend the money and upgrade my shin pads soon, and I'm looking for some advice on which new pads have a slim/tapered fit, especially towards the bottom. I'm coming from a set of 14" Easton Synergy 800's. Very comfortable but a little bulky. It sounds/looks like the Bauer's might be the best choice, but I'm not sure what the differences between the Vapor's and Supreme's are. It also looks like they get a bit bigger as you go up the range, so I was eyeballing the One55's and X40's. Are these my most low profile options on the market next to looking for some older Jofa's or Sherwood 5030's?

the older 5030's are still kinda bulky and very large in the knee area, Id go with the vapor line I think there more what your looking for the supremes are wider and somewhat larger overall, 40's are nice if you have the funds I dont think youd be dissapointed in the 60's at all thats a great tapered fit shin guard

the vapor's probably have the most tapered fit of any shin pad i've seen. so much so i was worried they wouldn't do much in the way of helping me block shots. thus, i'm waiting for the new totalone shins (bulky though they are).

i think you'd do great in the x40's/x60's

Agreed. Vapor's are very tapered however, it's quite good blocking shots. I'm a defensemen, so I block a lot of shots, so it's no problem. And I used X:Shifts(Cross of X:40/60)

Haha yeah I know, but I don't get what's so funny about it. And the cross between thing was probably inaccurate, I just say that because the X:Shift shoulders have a more X:60 like torso and the X:60 biceps.
