I had to turn it off after 1 period, sorry that's just NOT hockey. Like the shootout, they are making a mockery of the game. Is it just me or does anyone else feel this way?

Of course it's a colossal waste of time. I haven't watched one for at least a decade.

I'd much prefer that they have the skills competition as day 1 as part of an open air winter classic type arrangement, and then hold an actual game between two teams on day 2.

I just don't understand why people get so upset about the All Star game. All of the 4 major sports All Star games are all offense, all the time. It's just supposed to be for fun, not to be taken so seriously.

If anything, I thought this year's pool of All Stars was the weakest in recent memory. It's fascinating to me these were the most 'popular' players in the league this season as voted by the fans.

All that said, I rather enjoyed the weekend's festivities.

Well, we got a chance to see hockey played differently from regular season games, which we can see a whole lot of.

I enjoyed watching the passing and playmaking today, though guys sometimes went well out of their way to be unselfish, passing up scoring opportunities.

I gotta say I was very surprised that Sharp got MVP. There must have been a lot of texting from Chicago.
