It does seem pretty steep for half of a great season. I just hope he can keep this up! I believe that he can, but you never know.

I have to agree. As we see future contracts negotiated based on contracts like this, we can see more teams getting into the salary cap situation that made the Blackhawks unable to keep so many players from last year. Teams could end up with some very highly paid (and hard to trade) guys, and a bunch of very low-paid guys. Or we might see some changes in the salary cap. It'll be interesting to see what develops.

I agree. Good points all around in this topic. One good playoff and a great half a season in ATL isnt enough evidence in my opinion and as of right now I'd call that deal overpayment.
