Need new skates - Vapor's or Supreme's ?

Recommended Posts

Hey everybody, I just have a question about the bauer vapors and the bauer supreme ice hockey skates. Basicaly what is the difference besides the supremes having the LS-2.1 (longer blade ) and the vapors having the LS2's? I am an average hockey player who is playing once or twice a week in a rec leauge and I am trying to decide on new skates. I was looking at the vapor X50's / X40's or the One80's / One70's. I have always been in favor of buying higher end skates due to the feeling that you get a more comfortable skate that will not only feel and fit better, but last longer and help your skating ability as well. What are your thoughts on either model line and or the styles mentioned. I am leaning towards the X50's or One80's. Still need to try them on though.....just trying to figure out the differences between them first.

Thanks !

welcome to the forum!

learning how to use the search is very helpful - there're tons of topic on this, and it'll take another full one to describe the differences in fit, forward flex, potentially different steel etc

bottom line - get what fits you best! trust me - I neglected this basic advice for years, but when I finally listened things have improved immensely! :)

Hi, I just recently purchased some Bauer Vapor x60 le's. Like the SolarWind said, use the search. I started this thread asking for info and it was great. http://www.modsquadhockey.com/forums/index.php?/topic/56080-vapor-guy-or-supreme-guy/ . Try them both on and see which gives you the better fit. The x60's are on sale in most areas due to the release of the new Apex and 7.0. Good Luck

While it seems you have found the information you are looking for, I will proceed with adding my opinion. I have used both skates and they do offer two different fits. Try them both on and see which you prefer. Both skates are high quality and will probably be a great buy.
