Flexlite 4.0 Performance/Stiffness?

Recommended Posts

How comparable are the Flexlite 4.0s in stiffness and performance to comparable skates in the Vapor/Supreme line and even with other brands? I'm currently in One90s that are perfect in stiffness for me (have not gone soft in the years I've used them for) but they are not the ideal fit for me like the Flexlites are.

Also, I love the weight (or lack thereof) of the One90s, are the Flexlites noticeably heavier? Would I suffer a lot moving from One90s to Flexlites performance wise?

Tried the 4.0 non-pros today, very flexy compared to my U+12s but it is called the flexlite. Definetly not as stiff as CCM U+12 (and obviously the CL), Easton S12 and S17 or Bauer xxxx, x60. Were comfortable right of the box but I did notice the higher arch others had mentioned, footbed did not seem nearly as flat as Easton's stealth series, but they were wide in the toe box as advertised. Also noticed the boot wasn't as deep as my CCMs.

They were heavier than the other skates I mentioned but not overally so.

A lot of the arch is in the insole. You can remove some of the arch simply by replacing the insoles with flat ones.

Should have mentioned I did remove the footbed and still thought the built in arch was not as flat as Easton.

To quote Dave the Lighting Guy; I don't wanna sound like a queer or nothin', but I weighed my Vapor XXXX's and my Flexlite 4.0's and they FL's were lighter by 30g or something, both were size 9.5EE, the FL's even had more steel.
