Vapor X60 Skates

Recommended Posts

Hi. I currently play about 3 times a week in a mens league and rat. I currently use the x30 skate. I am thinking about upgrading to the x60 and id like to know what I can expect. I know the look a little different but I was hoping you can tell me what I can expect in terms of feel, playability, and skating. Is it worth the upgrade or will I not notice a difference on the ice? I completely understand that the X60 is a top of the line skate and the X30 is not. I just wanted your feedback on what I will notice or if it will be a good purchase. All comments are welcome

Your size/weight? Skill level?

I'm 6'0 185lbs.

As for skill level, I play mens C and B in a competitive rink that I'm told would be a solid B in most other rinks. I played AA growing up and stopped in HS. I picked i played pick up / intermural in college a little and then just picked it back up after about 4 years off.

You'll notice the added benefits in the skate. Now since they're on sale now I'm seeing more and more people get them online... if your x30s don't fit you properly you're wasting money.

It's not that my X30's don't fit well, they are just a little wobbly at the top (in the ankles). I just want to make sure that if I upgrade, i will notice a difference and it will make me play better. If not, I'll probably just keep the 30;s.

The 60's are stiff. They're relatively light for the tanks that they are. I have yet to hurt my foot blocking shots. If you get them, make sure you dry them off and pull the footbeds out after every use.

skates wont make you "play" better. they can be lighter, stiffer and what not. at the end of the day its your foot in the boot. if you think the investment is worth it personally then do it, i doubt you'll regret it i just went from the same transition. they'll need a good break in time thats for sure!

The X:60s in my opinion are the best overall skates made by Bauer. When 80% of NHLers seem to use them I can tell you they are a great investment. I love mine to death.
