elbow pads CCM PRO U

Recommended Posts

With some tweating I think i will like them but they sure are tight. Is that normal? What do you guys think about tight fitting elbow pads? Great mobility just tight. Thoughts?

PS: they are a size large

I have the CCM U+ Pro's and they fit great! No slippage during play at all. They might seem tight at first and alittle harsh on the skin from the neoprene cuff but it will only take a couple of uses before that goes away. I'm suprised you find them large. IMO they are the least bulky of the pro pads(Easton s19, Reebok, etc). They have a great fit!

I picked the Upros because they were the least bulky of the pro level pads. As mentioned above, the elbow hold is awesome and when combined with the low profile of the pad makes for the best purchase for current pro level elbows

I didn't think they were large I ment to say they are size large. I think I'm going to like them. I had to get some extra velcro strips to extend the forarm straps cause I have large forarms.(god blessed me with large forarms and no calves...) will try them for the first time tomorrow. Will tell you how it goes. Right now I'm just wearing them around the house. Wife thinks I'm weird for doing it. I think she is weird for thinking I'm weird:)

Lol, I just have the strap touching the velcro on mine, very loose because the hold of the neoprene cuff is great. Yes,let me know how they workout for you. After 3 or 4 times out you will barely know there on.

so,i tried them for the first time today and they are way better than the rbk7k I had before. you guys are right you simply get use to them , great mobility and not bulky at all. great elbow pads. I did have to extend the velcro straps but that was a 3 dollar fix.:)

Does sound like they're a size too small for you though, if they feel tight and you can't even close the velcro straps without an extension.

I just bought a pair of U+PRO elbows and found them to be tight myself (size large). I don't have huge arms but the fit just didn't seem comfortable.

To most of you using them: Did you have this same problem and they stretched out? I just stuck with my old pair and I'm thinking about returning the U+PRO.

What's tight? The pad itself, or just the straps?

If it's the pad, try on XL, and see if it's reasonably snug -- you don't want it moving around. I don't know if the U+Pro comes in XL; you may need to try Reebok, or something else.

The straps feel tight and the pad itself feels short. I know it has a "flex zone" so I didn't know if it really stretched out much after a few uses. I probably should have tried the XL. I'm tall, but my arms aren't big so I figured the L would work.

Are larger sizes of elbow pads wider or longer, or both?

Should be both, to fit bigger arms. I got Reebok 10K in L, but L in some other brands felt small. The XL had too much play; the L fit the elbow snugly, but not too snugly. It's also just about right on the forearm wrap. The straps seem a bit tight, but there's plenty of stretch in them, and I notice that only when I put them on. On the ice, I never notice it.

Along with adequate padding, I'd get an elbow pad first for its fit on the elbow, then the forearm, then worry about length. You may not end up with the pad you'd prefer, but a better fit should be a better choice. Custom extensions or slash guards could be an option. Or you could go for the 8K Pro, or its Jofa predecessor (9177?), which would give you more length, even at a smaller size. They run big, so you might even try a medium.

It wouldn't hurt to try some other brands/models if you haven't, the sizes may vary as to the balance in size/fit between elbow, forearm, and length.

first off I felt the same way at first but now think they are the best thing since sliced bread. I did go to a fabric store and bought some double sided Velcro strips to extend the straps a few inches. After that you really do forget they are on once you start playing and more importantly they don't get in your way like my 7k did.

You guys were right about the U+ elbows. I wore them a few times and they feel great now. A little short for my tastes, but I may invest in some wrist slash protectors. Thumbs up to anyone who is checking out the CCM U+ elbows.
