Quick Shaft Question

Recommended Posts

Hi

How do you tell if a shaft is Senior or Junior?

I just got an Easton ST from the USA and, although i'm sure it's Senior, it doesn't say it anywhere on the shaft. Do only senior blades fit senior shafts?

There is a marking on the side that says 'Jun /w 2' and then 'Made in China' - i'm guessing this is some kind of production date?

It's like 61" as well if that helps?

Thanks,

Rich

If its a jr it the width of the shaft will be very very small. Plus, the flex, will be very very low. I dont even think they make the st in a jr but the stick usually has a marking in the top end of the shaft with the flex, curve name, and sr/jr/int signature.

The shaft alone is 61"? Like without a blade in? Even senior ST shafts are not that long, they're closer to 50" without a blade, I don't know of any traditional (not tapered/low kick) shaft that is particularly close to 61". What is the flex marked on the shaft?

Apologies - just measured it and the shaft is 50-51". But on the top it has the kind of cut/flex marking guide and it goes from 55" to 58" then the stick ends - so i guessed. Seems weird though - perhaps it's the guide for the shaft once a blade has been added?

It's Flex 100 so assuming this is senior then...?

Yes, that's how long the stick would be from the butt end to the heel of the blade, if you put an Easton ST blade in it (worth noting that the ST blades have longer hosels than most blades). And yeah, it is absolutely a senior, and will take a senior, standard blade.

dude you can buy a senior shaft at 75 flex, trust me! you dont want to it sucks but yeah it comes like that, a junior shaft is like a full tapered shaft all over, meaning its thinner feels smaller. Like they all say, the height plays difference too but warrior ak27 senior shafts are the size of junior shafts which irritate me to hell
