Rick Nash Pro Curve

Recommended Posts

I saw a couple of them at Perani's a month or so ago. Seems like it was a healthy heel or mid-heel with some loft.

Dosn't Nash's curve have a fairly high lie to it as well? I remember hearing this a the All-Star skills comp.

Ya, because of how long he likes his stick, he needs a high lie. I think they mentioned it when he was doing the puck handling relay.

that doesn't make sense to me. my experience has always been you would need a lower lie for a longer stick. since the blade would be farther away from you, the angle of the shaft to the blade would be lower. a shorter stick would be closer to the body and would need a more upright lie.

The exact description I was given was "a modified Tucker, a little smaller and it doesn't open up as much". I would expect that the lie is similar.

Nash does use a fairly high lie. I remember one of the guys from the CBC saying he asked him when they were here to play the Canucks. Maybe Marcelo can end all of the guessing here.

My last three answers weren't guesses.

The one I saw at Perani's wasn't like the one you saw or the one he actually uses. No idea what they were.

if that's the case and tyson doesn't have his own pattern, then i saw a couple of nash's regular responses at a total hockey in st. louis last year. i agree with chadd's despcription of the curve. side note though, one of the three i saw had a ruff rubber coating on the blade. like it was dipped in that truck bed rhino lining or something. kinda cool.

I just bought a Nash R2 wood blade yesturday, I can post a pic when I get home from work...

We were talking about Rick Nash's pro curve, not the retail Nash curve.
