Heatley or Iginla

Recommended Posts

They used to be very similar (Iggy vs Heater). The Heatley has changed though recently (Winter/Spring 2010 ish) to be a bit different.

IMO the NEW Heatley is longer than the Iggy, has a slightly deeper curve and a lower lie.

I know several players that have recently switched from Easton Iginlas to Bauer P88's with no problem at all.

The lie on the Iginla would be closer to the P88 than a Heatly would be.

I disagree. The Iginla and Kane are both listed as a 5.5 lie, but having owned both the Kane plays like a significantly lower lie curve, due mostly to its rocker. With an equal length stick the Iginla was a bit too high of a lie for me, all my tape wear was right at the heel after shooting, but the Kane was just right, my tape wear was mid blade. Haven't used the Heatley, but have checked it out in store, it's got a slightly lower lie than the Iginla, very similar to the Kane.

I tried to make the switch from iginla to Kane midway through the season this year just could not do it. The rocker was way different and it almost felt like the kane had a little more depth to the curve. $400 lesson for me to pick 4 or 5 sticks I know I like at the beginning of the season.
