USA Hockey No longer sanctioning Inline Hockey

Recommended Posts

There goes the neighborhood...Considering that inline hockey hasn't been a priority for USARS in the past, I would rather have this be the other way around.

I believe RHA is the way to go...i'm not a fan of how USARS runs things personally, along with AAU. Just my two cents without turning this post into 100% politics.

It shouldn't affect any of the in-house leagues, the change should mainly concern the tournament series as well as Team USA management in theory.

FYI USARS = AAU.

They only sanction the AIHL, most high school leagues, Junior Olympics, Team USA, NAYRHL, and 2Hot4Ice. Not really a priority for them...

This is actually very good news. Could be a step towards one global sanctioning body if IIHF puts everything in the hands of FIRS.

I actually liked the IIHF much better than FIRS for a huge number of reasons, but one worry is that IIHF goes away in particular so USARS can promote FIRS.

Speaking of Team USA, anyone know who made the team this weekend?

I'm not in a position to comment upon how this will affect the workings in the USA. However i do think in theory having one governing body is better for the sport. If the AAU are the right people i'll let you guys discuss that. However, as for the international game as a whole, i'd much rather the IIHF were the singualr body as opposed to FIRS.

100% agreed with IIHF comment. I've only heard negative things out of the USARS tryout that happened this last weekend.

I'm not 100% sure why it's not posted online yet, but i have heard that Tyler Walser, Greg Thompson, Peter Messina, Mosenson, and a few others out of the Pittsburgh Bandits AIHL Squads and Mission Hockey.

I know from the Bandits, Dustin Roux is in and Justin Cormack is the 1st alternate. Didn't hear about what Dustin Brown or Ryan Bond did (Logic would say they are in due to them playing on the team last year, same goes for Fudge).

Did Nick Posa tryout this year?

So does this mean the USA wont have a team at IIHF? That would suck.

Only time will tell. IIHF was where it were at.
