Easton SE 16 Skates

Recommended Posts

Just recently picked up a pair of Easton SE16 skates (older version - black boot)I love the skate and the fit, the only weird thing is that when I perform a hockey stop sometimes there is a whistling sound coming from what I beleive to be the steels contact with the ice?

Has anyone else experieced this or know what this is caused from? I have been skating for quite sometime and on many different brands of skates and holders / steel setups but have never experienced this...it really is somewhat annoying.

Any help or feedback would be appreciated.

Thanks

It's most likely the parabolic steel flexing. Replace that crap and enjoy significantly improved skates!

Thanks for the feedback...any recomendations?? What runners are best and will hold edge sharpness the longest? I skate twice per week in a mens league if that means anything

Thanks again

Since you're in Easton skates, you'll need Easton runners for the RBII towers, unless you planned on switching out the towers for something else, in which case you'll need the matching steel for that.

I had the same problem when I got m s15 years back. I switched to tuuks ls2 and problem solved. May be biased but i've been on Tuuks since I started skating so no matter what skates I get I always sit on Tuuks

Step Steel or Elite steel. I have Step and love it!

Thanks, thinking about going for the Step, seems like the way to go and I don't have to change the holders!

Much appreciated for all the suggestions
