Anyone try the CCM CS stick?

Recommended Posts

Apparently I started this topic in the wrong forum, so I'm moving it here:

I love the CCM CL, I have two, but was interested in the crazy strong. Any one here had a chance to use one? Hows the puck feel, how is the stick for slappers, wristers etc?

CCM claims the CL and the CS use the same blade...

My friend got one and he used it for half a practice before going back to his totalone. He said there wasn't much "pop" in his shot.

ibeck i was going to say the exact same thing before i saw your post.... there's really nothing "special" about this stick. it feels kinda dead in your hands. CL is WAAAAAAY better.

As others have stated, CL is the better of the 2. The CL has great puck feel, shots are rockets and even with the Crazy Ovi curve, passes stick to the blade. My ONLY complaint is the blade is getting chips up and down on it. The blade "resin" is also bubbling on a few spots. The shape of the blade is the exact same but it looked like the carbon material maybe compressed to make some spots look like a bubble. When I took some tape off of the stick it looks like some of the clear went with it. Every time I step off the ice I'll inspect my stick to see what's "new" as far as wear. It appears this last time where the curve starts to move into the open toe there is a small "indention" that looks somewhat like a crack. Could be from a skate. I have a feeling that its going to be the end of the blade soon. Time will tell.

I have owned multiple other brands/curves and haven't had anything like this yet. I've had the CL for about 3 months now and its by far my favorite stick. Purchasing 6 CL's later, I won't be so worried when the current workhorse breaks. I'm just waiting to see how long until this current CL breaks and how/where it breaks.

Good stuff ! The CS is kinda just to combat the ST at the retail level IMO.

Guess the price on the CS is the giveaway that its not up to par with the CL, as Ive seen the CS for $175 US. Too bad I really like the feel of it at the store (glad I didnt pick one up)

Thanks for the feedback guys :)

The ST was built upon years and years of proven success, something the CS does not have...it will be tough to compete for sure.

I think it depends on the person and their shooting style and personal preference. I had an older CCM and tried the One95 for one shift, then went back to the CCM.
