CCM vs. RBK skate fit

Recommended Posts

I find the RBK heel to be a bit smaller.

I agree. My heels definitely feel more snug in my RBKs than in my CCMS. Surprisingly, the RBKs have a wider toe cap than my CCMs do. And U+ had a very tight mid-heel with higher arch than the RBKs (in same size and width).

+1 for the heel fit, toe cap width, and the arch. I went from the CCM V6 to the RBK 7k, and prefer the fit of the RBK. Heel feels locked down a lot more, and the arch/metatarsal area has a lot more room than the CCM.

The CCM U+ line feels a bit bigger this year. Went from last year's Reebok 9k in a size 9D and into the U+ CL size 8.5D and they feel the same in regards to length. The CCM skate feels a lot better in the arch area than the Reeboks, as in they are a bit wider. Heel look feels tighter on the CCM as well (pump failed on my Reeboks, which can explain why it feels like I get a lot of heel lift). I would say that the Reebok has a bit less volume as well. Hope this helps.

Bought CCM Vector U+ 09 size 7.5D for roller(Sprungs) and Reebok 7k size 8D for Ice. The length of the CCM was perfect but around the pinky toe(toe cap area?) pinched too much along with the heel. After baking them so many times, and it would still leave red marks on the sides of my pinky bone and heels, and my feet would be numb soon as I take the CCMs off. I bought the Reeboks bigger. Now it fits very nice and the toes dont touch the cap and there's breathing room for my heels. The only problem I've noticed is my RF heel would slide up ever so slightly, so I just wear thicker socks and pump it up. I would think to buy 7.5 in Reeboks but I'm afraid it might not fit. It just sucks once you wear it, you cant return it etc etc.
