pro stock blades

Recommended Posts

I went to the wings sale today and while looking at the over priced sticks they had there, i noticed on some of the sticks such as zetterbergs, the blades are very grity and feel like sandpaper. what is this and what does it feel like when you stickhandle, shoot, pass, etc.

I believe it was an option that was available on the higher end sticks from last year. I think the 6k was the cheapest one that had the sharkskin option.

What on earth are you guys talking about?

If you're talking about a grit finish on a blade like Easton had with their Z-Tac...that was never an option on high-end Reebok retail sticks.

Well, Aireaye is wrong - Reebok's Sharkskin is the old snake grip - the ribs on the shaft.

What you are describing is Z-Tac; it is essentially grit sprayed on a blade to give it a tacky feel.

I believe BASE offers it as an option aswell.

Correct. They offer that finish on the blade, on the shaft, or both at no extra cost.

The Sharkskin is like sandpaper, the Snake grip is the ribs/lines on the shaft; they're different textures. I don't get what's wrong.

ohhh so that's what you mean. I don't think the 6K has a gritty blade, it was more the shaft only iirc. Well maybe I should have said that the z-tac is similar to the sharkskin.
